THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS BEING PROVIDED BY THE MAGNOLIA PLANTATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
On behalf of Magnolia Plantation Homeowners Association, the Board hopes that all owners, residents, and families had a wonderful holiday season. Somehow it’s the end of January already. The Board held monthly Board meetings in each of the last several months on October 9 (annual budget meeting), November 13, December 11, and January 15. Minutes of each monthly meeting, which are approved by motion and vote at the following months meeting, are then posted on our community website at www.magnoliaplantation.net. The Board would like to provide brief updates on the following important topics:
Magnolia Plantation Golf Club:
MPGC remains indefinitely closed as decided by owner Magnolia Golf Club Holding LLC (owner Edward Meixsell). It is the Board’s understanding that MPGC remains for sale. The Board continues to try to facilitate any and all discussions whereby a new ownership and operations could achieve a successful renovation and re-opening of the golf course, clubhouse, and other amenities and facilities. The MPHOA-MPGC Committee has developed a questionnaire/survey that will soon be provided to all owners to complete. The intent is to provide the questionnaire/survey to all owners in both electronic and hard copy paper formats. It is important that all owners complete the questionnaire/survey once provided.
Bear Proof Trash Cans:
By unanimous vote, the Board has decided to take advantage of a Seminole County program whereby bear proof trash cans can be purchased by pre-approved homeowner associations at a drastically reduced cost per unit. One bear proof trash can will be purchased for each property in Magnolia Plantation. Our property manager, Sentry Management, is coordinating with Seminole County for specifics of when the trash cans will be available and delivered. It is currently anticipated that delivery will occur sometime in latter February. More specific information will be forthcoming from Seminole County, Sentry Management, and the Board soon.
Speed Limit Enforcement and Traffic Calming:
Speeding within Magnolia Plantation remains a big concern. The Board urges all owners, residents, guests, and vendors to obey the posted speed limits, which is 30mph along our entry roadway Timberbrook Drive, and 25mph along Shadowmoss Circle and all other streets. The Board approved the installation of (12) additional speed limit signs along our roadways (specifically Timberbrook Drive and Shadowmoss Circle). The Board also approved the expenditure associated with increased Seminole County Sheriff’s patrols for speed limit enforcement.
Golf Cart Registration and Use:
There have been an increasing number of golf carts being driven in an unsafe manner, as well as trespassing on property, and damaging property. All golf carts in Magnolia Plantation must be properly registered. Part of that registration is the clear understanding of applicable regulations and rules, and as importantly the clear understanding of golf cart owner liability. The Board urges all golf cart owners to appropriately monitor the use of their golf carts by themselves, family members, and others. Any concerning golf cart activity can be reported to our Property Manager, most preferable with the golf cart registration number identified. https://magnoliaplantation.net/?s=golf+cart
Planned Improvements:
Our new tennis courts are getting a lot of use and that is great to see. Magnolia Field is in great winter shape and ready for all sports and other fun activities. The Board continues to consider the construction of a new pavilion to be constructed between the tennis courts and Magnolia Field. We have heard from residents and see the need for a significant clean-up and renovation to Magnolia Park, and in particular the play equipment area. Typical maintenance of our sidewalks to address broken or uneven portions is being addressed.
MPHOA is always looking for volunteers to address needs of the community. Please consider and reach out. The Board encourages owner and resident attendance at any of our monthly Board meetings, typically held on the second Monday evening of every month. The February Board meeting is currently scheduled for Monday, February 19th at 5:00pm.
We hope all owners, residents, and families have a great 2018. Spring doesn’t officially begin until March 20th, so in the meantime let’s all enjoy the remaining portion of “winter” in Magnolia Plantation.
